Pam Beaumont Park

In October 2007, the Agency purchased one and a half acres to expand an existing city park on 42nd Street. The Agency began renovations by improving the landscaping, irrigation and play equipment, and has continued to fund annual improvements including 2024 additions of updated security systems, a half-court basketball court and state-of-the-art rubber playground surfaces. Pam Beaumont/Riverfront Park is the largest improved park in the city and the only one with an array of facilities, including playground equipment, security systems, picnic shelters, basketball, and restrooms. The Park’s name was changed from Riverfront Park to Pam Beaumont Park in 2021 to honor Pam Beaumont for her many years of service on City Council and as the Chair of the Garden City Urban Renewal Agency.

This park is located adjacent to the Boys & Girls Club of Ada County, serving that facility as well as residents and visitors of the urban renewal area. The park is also heavily used by the students at the Future Public School and at Anser Charter School, one of the largest continuously operating charter schools in the state.

Pam Beaumont/Riverfront Park was a major factor in the decision by developers to build a new, $10 million, 64-unit affordable apartment complex on 42nd Street, reflecting the influence of parks on economic growth.
