46th Street Reservoir and Booster Pump

The 46th Street reservoir fills a critical need for the city. Before it was constructed, the city did not have an emergency reservoir or other means to store water to be used during a crisis, such as major flooding or fire. The Garden City Urban Renewal Agency provided $2 million for the new, 750,000-gallon reservoir and booster pump station, which have led to more efficient day-to-day operation of the city’s wells and pumps and the availability of water during emergencies.
