43rd Street Well & Pump House

The old 43rd Street well and pump house were out-of-date and in disrepair when the city partnered with the Garden City Urban Renewal Agency to replace them. The lack of water flow from the existing well and pump house posed a firefighting risk because the well-capacity was inadequate to fulfill fire flow needs. The new facilities can produce enough water for the entire city during the winter months should the need arise.
